Together with Cox Automotive, we at Modix are supporting the charity Make-A-Wish over the next two years to make the lives of seriously ill children around the world more bearable.

Make-A-Wish

This charity aims to grant the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill children, making the world a better place for them and their families. We hope that our donations will also help many children to fulfill their heart’s desires.

Make-A-Wish gives seriously ill children something invaluable: a piece of carefree childhood. Some normality in a life that has been derailed by illness. The fulfillment of a wish can give them joy, hope, and new vitality for the future again. They are given the opportunity to create unforgettable memories that they can cherish forever – no matter what their future may hold.

The charity relies on fundraising efforts from businesses such as Modix and Cox Automotive to raise the necessary funds.

What we do to help

Our team members have already taken part, and are yet to take part, in a few events to raise funds for the charity. The first two initiatives have already taken place successfully.

The first activity was related to the centenary celebrations of the Manheim Auctions and Vehicle Services brand in the UK. All team members were asked to set themselves a personal challenge revolving around the number 100. This could be, for example, a sponsored event to do 100 push-ups or a sponsored 100-minute silence.

The second event was called “Climb Every Mountain”, which took place this year in June. The goal was to walk 24,000 steps in 24 hours.

Peter Bell, Chief Operating Officer, Cox Automotive Europe said:

“As a family-owned company, it’s great to see our passion for doing the right thing seen by all team members working to support their local communities.

All our team members are incredibly excited to be part of a joint international effort to support the charity, becoming a #WishHero and holding their own fundraising activities, where plenty of activities and achievements will be seen.

Some of our team members at Cox Automotive have received support from the charity in the past, so it’s great that we can give a little back to support the tremendous work that the organization does, enabling Make-A-Wish to continue carrying out as many wishes as possible for critically-ill children.”

Cox Automotive has already raised £3,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2021 the same amount required to grant two wishes for a critically ill child. The company held a charity raffle at its virtual employee awards ceremony in January and aims to build on this throughout this year and into 2022, so that the charity can grant as many wishes as possible.

Peter Bell added:

“Our staff are all committed to serving their local communities, raising money for charity, and helping others. It’s embedded into our company culture and we have a long history of team members raising money for charities close to their hearts.”

Our goal this year

To change the lives of 1,000 children by granting them their very own heartfelt wish!
